Let the children come to me.(Luke 18:16)
Becoming an Altar Server is one way that you, the youth of our parish, can come and serve the Lord.
What does an Altar Server do?
The two main duties of a server are to assist the priest and deacon during the celebration of Mass and help the people pray by your example.
Who can become an Altar Server?
Anyone who is in the 3rd grade, made your First Communion, and is enrolled in Faith Formation classes with the willingness to serve any of the 2 weekend Masses about 1-2 times per month and as well as to help at other times in the absence of an altar server.
Procedures:
Before Mass
During Mass
After Mass
Trainings:
Training classes are planned for Sunday afternoons following Mass and last approx 1 - 1 1/2 hours. (Further details to follow)
Children are encouraged to bring lunch (or snack) to eat before training class begins. Classes will begin approximately 30 minutes following the end of Mass.
All children must attend new servers training, and additional training when new procedures are put in place.
Additional details to follow. If you are interested in becoming an Altar Server, please complete the volunteer registration form.
