The Catholic Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, formerly known as Last Rites is a ritual of healing appropriate not only for physical but also for mental and spiritual sickness. Anointing of the sick for the seriously sick, although you do not need to be in danger of dying. The best time to request this sacrament is at the onset of a serious illness, in the event of pending surgery, or for some serious illness.
We urge you to contact a priest to administer the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick and not wait until the last moment when a priest may not be immediately available.
